Burma: A Military Dictatorship (VIDEO)

by BRANDON BUCK, Causecast Video Producer
2010 will be a very important year for Burma and the fate of democracy in the country, as the first general election will take place in nearly two decades. In August, President Obama asked that all political prisoners in Burma, naming Aung San Suu Kyi specifically, be set free, which the Burmese court rejected and is currently being appealed by Aung San’s legal team.
Meanwhile, basic human rights are still being violated every year, and organizations like the Human Rights Action Center are fighting for stop human abuse. Ben Teo is a student of the Singapore American School community, and made this video about freedom for Burma and Aung San Suu Kyi.
