How To Use Social Media For Aung San Suu Kyi

You want to help the cause in Burma but don’t have the time to be out on the streets protesting. That’s ok! We’ve come up with ways you can use the power of social media to raise awareness about Aung San Suu Kyi and bring about real change!

1) Change your Twitter, Facebook and/or MySpace profile pic to the Freedom To Lead Poster. You’re sure to incite discussion among your followers and friends.

2) Download the poster, take a picture of yourself with it, and upload it to the Freedom to Lead Flickr Group or to Causecast’s Facebook Page.

3) Upload the Freedom To Lead poster to your own Facebook profile and tag some of your friends. Who cares if Wendy Spielman isn’t actually in the poster? Tag her anyway!

4) Tweet the following: “I support Aung San Suu Kyi’s release from the dictators in Burma! Join me – http://causecast.org/freedomtolead #freedomtolead” It’ll look like this:

5) Become a fan of Aung San Suu Kyi on Facebook. She’s got over 128,000 followers. You don’t want to be left out, do you?

6) Write a blog post about the cause, a protest or an event. You’d be surprised how many people still don’t know about the situation in Burma.

Ok, that’s six ideas. Anything we left out? Write about what you’re doing in the comments section below.
