by JONATHAN HARRIS, Managing Editor

I’m a big fan of Aaron Cohen, and not just because I’m contractually obligated to be one. I’ve read his book, Slave Hunter and met him several times. I can definitely say that hearing his words spoken aloud is a pretty incomparable experience, especially considering what he’s seen in his life.

That’s why you shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to see him in your area. He’s doing several book signings in the next few weeks and you need to get to one if you can.

On Tuesday, July 28, he’ll be appearing at a benefit reception hosted by the Asia Vision Foundation. To honor Cohen’s work, Shepard Fairey is presenting two signed prints of his portrait of Nobel Laureate and Causecast leader Aung Sang Suu Kyi.

As you’ll recall, Causecast recently connected Fairey, the artist behind the iconic Obama HOPE image, with Causecast leader Jack Healey. The collaboration between the two culminated with the new image of Suu Kyi.

Also featured will be the Internet Freedom Consortium, a group of internet companies providing uncensored, secure web access to millions of users in Iran and China as well as Asia Catalyst, an NGO that provides training and assistance to grassroots groups in Asia working for economic and social rights.

Too Bad you are not coming to the EU. Would be a great idea, since your line of activism & work is (almost?) unknown here. Let me know if we can do something, although Aaron (you?) seems to be quite well tapped and wired.
