Last Thursday, June 25, Causecast joined documentary filmmaker Jason Pollock for the world premiere of his film, The Youngest Candidate. We were just going to do a simple livestream of the occasion, but of course Jason does nothing in moderation, so we found ourselves in the first ever Tweet-Up Film Premiere at a Major Film Festival (patent pending). Jason tweeted to his 57,000 followers, along with inviting Stef Michaels (aka @AdventureGirl), who tweeted to her 630,000 followers. No biggie, right?
Thousands of people tuned in over the night, and over 2,500 people watching simultaneously (which in the past we’ve had livestreaming Qik’s servers overloaded at that number, so there could have easily been more). The theatre was full and CA State Senator Ron S. Calderon presented Jason with a Certificate of Recognition for “producing a memorable testament to political leadership.” Not too shabby.
In case you missed the world premiere of “The Youngest Candidate,” and in case you missed the livestream of the event, Jason is dropping by Causecast headquarters on Tuesday, June 30 at 2pm PST. He’ll be doing a long chat about the film, along with showing a few clips.
