Diddy hosted the show “Who Wants To Work For Diddy.” Russell Simmons is taking that idea to a whole new level. He’s called it the Race To BE and it started on Oct. 2. The Race to BE. is the signature U.S. event for the worldwide initiative Global Entrepreneurship Week, which will encourage young people to leverage their artistic abilities in film, music and fashion into entrepreneurial endeavors.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to remind young people to always pursue their dreams,” said Simmons. “We all know that anything is possible with a little bit of faith, determination and resilience.” The competition targets 18 to 29 year-olds interested in film, music, and fashion who want to become young entrepreneurs. From Oct. 2 through Oct. 31, applicants may apply online at http://www.racetobeusa.com and submit a sample of an existing creative work to compete.

It’s great to see Russell – one of the greatest entrepreneurial minds of all time – mentoring our youth. Whoever ends up winning this will go on to do many great things.
