Lauren Conrad's Generous Gift to Pat
Teen choice award winner Lauren Conrad from the Hills, showed her appreciation for her favorite Do Something Award nominee, Pat Pedraja, by handing over to him her prize of the night- a brand new surfboard. “Pat, since I think you are the real winner of the night I wanted to give you my surfboard” said Conrad in an email.
Pat, a leukemia patient and just 13 years old, created Driving For Donors to raise awareness for the need of bone marrow donors. Pat and his mother drive across the country in the “Donormobile”, registering donors and finding life-saving matches for people who need them.
“I didn’t win the Do Something Award and was a little sad,” Pat posted on the driving for donors website. “When Lauren won her award … she dedicated the award to ME and my work! That made me feel special! "
