Why I Participate
We at InVenture Fund believe that we need to find a way to integrate our causes, and work together to find sustainable solutions to changing communities as a whole. InVenture Fund has found a way to do that! InVenture Fund provides an online platform for everyday investors to provide capital and training to young entrepreneurs in developing countries. So that these entrepreneurs grow viable businesses but also reinvest into their own communities to catalyze sustained community change.
About Me
Although philanthropy, micro-enterprise, and other market-driven approaches have started to bring resources to developing countries, they alone are not the answer to creating sustainable community change. Many communities are still living day-to-day and remain very dependent on external aid. Additionally, many successful business owners in these communities have exhausted the opportunities made available to them through traditional short-term microfinance loans. While microfinance has enabled small bursts of short-term growth, it remains a day-to-day source of funds and does not offer a permanent solution to alleviating the problems associated with global poverty and inequality. InVenture Fund seeks to bridge the gap between short-term microfinance loans and large-scale venture capital by providing smaller financial investments and specialized training to ensure that its entrepreneurs can both achieve their expansion goals and make a profound impact on their communities.
My Interest
The InVenture Fund team represents an evolution in its approach to investing, philanthropy and community development and is comprised of a group of young professionals whose collective experience ranges from traditional investment banking to public health and from international policy to education. The InVenture Fund team is a coalition of innovative, grounded and realistic minds that has a practical perspective on what it takes to create lasting community change and employs the skills and know-how to make it happen.
